The Skinny: August 13, 2017
Headlines & Sunday Announcements
August 20 @ 5PM / Warehouse 242
The West Charlotte Coalition, of which Warehouse is a part, is committed to an intentional pursuit of reconciling relationships and corporate worship together. We express this by bringing our churches, ministries, organizations, and leaders together on the last Sunday of the month at one of the Coalition’s venues. Being mindful of the first day back for CMS schools, we have bumped this month’s gathering back a week, to the 20th, so that families can be at home to prep their little ones together on the 27th.
This month David Docusen from Center City Church will be interviewing Meaghan Loftus, the Principal of Ashley Park PreK-8 School, on the topic of the impact a church can make on a neighborhood school.
There will be childcare available for Pre-School age and younger kids.
Join us right here at Warehouse for this catalytic evening.
Today Wes read a responsive prayer that was written by Rich Villodas of New Life Fellowship Church in New York City. Villodas wrote this prayer in the wake of the events that unfolded over the weekend in Charlottesville, VA. It is a beautiful cry out to our God.
Sunday, August 13 / 8pm @ Marshall Park
Indivisible Charlotte is hosting a vigil tonight for Charlottesville, VA. It will be at Marshall Park, 800 E. 3rd St., from 8-9pm. Rain or Shine.
Stuff You Should Know
ASHLEY PARK / SCHOOL UNIFORM PROGRAM
There are some families with scholars at Ashley Park School that struggle to purchase their required uniforms or, in some cases, to have the means to launder the ones they do have. You can help! We have set up a Target Registry where you can purchase uniforms and have them shipped directly to Warehouse. Having clean clothes to wear seems so basic, but it’s a luxury most of us take for granted. Let’s fill the clothing pantry at Ashley Park so that none of the students there need to worry about that.
Here are some ways you can get involved:
> Link your Harris Teeter VIC Card to Ashley Park PreK-8 School
> Join the care team whose job it is to encourage and support the faculty and staff at Ashley Park
> Mentor a student in reading.
>Donate items for the Ashley Park Greater Enrichment Program. Drop them off in the barrels at Kids Check-In and in the arena.
