The Next Session of the Loading Dock: August 9, 16 & 23 // REGISTER ONLINE Participating Membership is the antidote to our commitment-phobic generation. To a culture that defines commitment as, "I'll do it if I feel like it," we say: "In order for our church's mission to be accomplished, my membership is essential" (1 Corinthians 12:12-31). The Bible leaves no room for sitting on the sidelines and watching. If you believe in the Church, you're either "all in" or not in at all. Participating Members are the committed core who: 1. Engage the Culture 2. Pursue Normal People 3. Serve our City and our Neighbors Our three-week class called The Loading Dock is designed to succinctly deliver information about who we are, what we believe, and what we expect of our Participating Members. You need only attend the first week in person. Weeks two and three are available online. The next class begins August 9. The Loading Dock classes are designed for those people ready to consider making Warehouse their church home. The class meets after the second church event on Sunday mornings, upstairs in the Blue Room. Light snacks are served shortly after noon, and the class begins promptly at 12:30. We'll have you out by 2:00 p.m, and yes, we'll watch the kids so you can attend. While your first-hand attendance at all three sessions is preferred, we do have make up classes on-line for Sessions 2 & 3. You only need to attend Session 1 in person. The Class Start to finish, the Loading Dock consists of three sessions, and is designed to give you the information you need to answer three core questions: 1. Does the mission of Warehouse quicken my pulse? 2. Do I share Warehouse's beliefs about the Essential theological stuff? 3. Am I ready to dive in and be an active participant in the mission? What Do You Cover? Far from being a rubber stamp process, we provide you the opportunity to think critically, and answer these questions each week. Week 1 will focus on our Mission and Reason for Being. With that foundation, we also cover a discussion on the Essentials of Christianity. Week 2 will focus on what the Gospel is and what it isn't. We will also talk about living missionaly through prayer and volunteering. Week 3 provides the opportunity to hear from Bruce on where we are and where we're going. You will also hear from one of our elders about how our church is governed, and the commitment that Participating Members make with each other. Then What? If, after completing all three weeks you are ready to move forward, we'll connect you with one of our elders for chance to have a cup of coffee. They ask you some standard questions, and you'll have the chance to ask any lingering questions you may have as well. This informal conversation is one which many Participating Members count as the most rewarding part of their journey. The Loading Dock takes place on months with five Sundays. As such, the dates for 2009 are: August 9, 16 & 23 November 8, 15 & 22 To learn more and / or to sign-up for the next class, e-mail
