Small Group Guide
We desire for our community to grow in spiritual depth together. Your small group can be a robust space where you make those connections between what we’re experiencing as a community on Sunday and what is striking at your soul during the week. How to Use the Curriculum with Your Small Group.

BEFORE GROUP
Please take time before your small group to read through the Scripture, as well as the Cultural Context/Background, Biblical Implications and the Questions sections. There is also an Additional Resource section for you to explore if you desire. While the material is condensed, feel free to let this be a springboard for further study.
And ask God to help you zero-in on the aspects of Scripture and the questions that best relate to your group; but we encourage you to open to a change of direction as group discussion unfolds.
If you weren’t there on Sunday, please download mp3 of the Talk and listen to it before group. Also, please remind the group the Talk is available on-line.
DURING GROUP
Make sure everyone has Bibles. While you may benefit from having multiple versions of Bibles, in most circumstances Scriptures will be quoted from the New International Version (NIV).
Read the Scripture aloud together. You may want to have a couple of people read it in different versions.
If you’d like, feel free to hand out copies of the small group guide or simply share with the group the cultural context and biblical implementation insights.
During the question sections invite different people from the group to respond so the discussion won’t be dominated only by a few.
The goal of Scripture–and of this discussion material—is not information expansion but rather increased intimacy with the Father, Son and Spirit. It’s God who enables that to happen; so be sure to pray for divine insight as you move through Scripture.
