At Warehouse 242 we place high value on developing leaders, and on helping each member of our community find their leadership potential. Leadership is influence, and we seek to be a community of Christ followers who influence our city, and our culture for Jesus. Our ability, capacity, and motivation to lead will define our possibilities to produce positive change.

Leadership Development

We engage in a developmental approach to leadership that helps leaders to serve and lead out of their strengths, and out of a vital, holistic relationship with Jesus. At Warehouse the leadership development effort has three primary buckets – mentoring and development of active leaders, the cultivation of new leaders through a leadership incubator, and a broadcasting of leadership resources for the community as a whole. Resources

There are a wide variety of leadership resources available at Warehouse. The four primary resources are mentoring, the Leadership Forum, Leadership Fridays and the leaders’ reading hit list. The current leadership reading selection is In The Name of Jesus (Reflections on Christian Leadership) by Henri Nouwen. Our leaders will be reading this during the months of February, March and April.

Quarterly Leadership Forum

Four times a year all ministry leaders, and participants in the leadership incubator at Warehouse, gather on a Monday night for teaching and dialogue on leadership specific themes, and to pray for each other. During 2009, our leadership team is focusing on the theme of communicating the Gospel in a postmodern world.

Leadership Fridays

Twice a year we open up leadership specific teaching in a large group format to the entire community at Warehouse. Often we will choose a selection from the annual Leadership Summit run by Willow Creek Church, and offer a “best of” leadership talk. These messages are of the very highest caliber, offering leadership resources from some of the finest leadership experts in the world today.
