Drawing Near to Jesus through Lent
Our hope for Warehouse Women’s En Route this year is to build upon the theme of Rest. Believing that true soul rest comes from a life lived with Christ, we want to explore how we can create pause, quiet and space for Jesus in our typically busy, noisy lives. Over the year we intend to look to the Church calendar to imagine what can it look like to order our days and the seasons of the year with intentionality and focus on Christ.
At February’s En Route we want to set the stage for the coming season of Lent. Whether you always observe Lent or never have before, we want to talk about what it means, what it doesn’t mean, and explore together how we can encounter Jesus through the season of Lent.
Limited childcare is available. Email email@example.com to inquire.
ROOM IN THE INN / Sunday Nights Through March/ Sign Up Now!
During the coldest winter months (December through March) Warehouse serves as a host site for Room in the Inn—an interfaith network of winter shelters for the homeless of Charlotte, organized by the Urban Ministry Center. The purpose of the program is very simple: we want to keep our city’s homeless neighbors from freezing on cold winter nights. We solve this problem by providing a warm, safe place for our neighbors to sleep, along with two meals to eat (dinner and breakfast), and transportation to and from Warehouse. Meeting new friends, and building relationships with our homeless neighbors are what make this program so powerful.
We serve as an area host in our building’s “center section”—the area in between the arena and the Kidz classrooms. Preparation begins during the late afternoon, and the program concludes early morning after breakfast. This is an ideal service event for small groups, and for people ready to dip their toes into the pool of meaningful Service to our neighbors and our city.
To volunteer, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
THIS IS HOW WE GROW
Are you new at Warehouse 242, or do you simply want to know how to get more involved? If so, we’d love to help you learn who Warehouse is, how Small Groups work, and how to plug in through meaningful Service.
Here’s how you can dive in:
“They devoted themselves to the apostle’s teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
WE ARE A COMMUNITY THAT PRAYS
When here on Sunday, you’ll find people who would love to pray for you in the prayer room after each service. Or, you can fill out a prayer card and drop it in one of the yellow boxes. But during the week, you can still reach someone for prayer. Just email our prayer team at email@example.com
