Here are the details from the announcements you heard during the service on Sunday, and other news you’re looking for:

> Family Promise / May 23-30

Warehouse’s partnership with Family Promise resumes Sunday, May 23 and runs through Sunday, May 30. Warehouse participates in this city-wide collaboration because Family Promise moves families from homelessness to reliable housing and independence. In the year since Warehouse first started hosting families with Family Promise, six families have graduated, and are no longer homeless. Some of you have even helped these families move into their new place to live.

The families have commented how much they enjoy staying at Warehouse because it is so welcoming and laid back. Our volunteers have cherished the opportunities to build relationships with these families that last beyond the week they stay here on site. Now is your opportunity to dive in.

Volunteer opportunities:
-Move-in on Sunday afternoon
-Dinner
-Breakfast supplies
-Hosting on Saturday
-Sunday move-out
-Sunday brunch

> un(common) series starts next Sunday / May 16

un(common) – not ordinarily encountered.
It is difficult to live uncommon lives. Oh, sometimes we like to flaunt the conventional dress code or music or film taste, but honestly…that is not all that uncommon. The desire to express ourselves individually is at some level hardwired in, and we long to be ourselves…and so seek to avoid the mainstream, even as we embrace community. But to live a truly uncommon life. Something rare, and in the end, provocative and winsome…that is a bigger challenge.

It is, quite honestly, the way that Jesus calls us to live. Counter. Against the grain. Not for the sake of being different, but because the common way, the way we ordinarily see, is not the way that breeds life, beauty and wholeness. In other words, Jesus’ call to live counter-culturally is not for the sake of standing out, but because there is something fundamentally wrong with the common perceptions of so many things – money, sex, power. Love, friendship, honor.

During our upcoming series, we will explore an uncommon way to look at money. One that speaks to our most essential desires and longings, and one that can set us on the path – no matter where we are starting from – to an expansive, generous, and free life.

> We are a community that prays.

When here on Sunday, you’ll find people who would love to pray for you in the prayer room after each service. Or, you can fill out a prayer card and drop it in one of the yellow boxes. But during the week, you can still reach someone for prayer. Just e-mail our prayer team at prayer@warehouse242.org
