> Basics_Engage

Warehouse was born to bring people that wouldn’t otherwise go to church into a relationship with God. Everything we do is built around that mission — and out of that, we want to impact our city in a radical way.

There is a movement, and you are the core of it.

On October 14th we started the third part in our series of Basics classes, called Engage. This one is a very practical look at how to engage in the mission of getting the gospel to our normal friends and to this city. Join us for the next three Wednesdays… you don’t have to have attended the first class to attend the next three sessions.

> Week One – October 14 – Engaging Pursuing
Bruce is encouraging everyone in the community to try to attend. He will be leading this class and focusing on how to have conversations about faith with normal friends. It is a can’t miss class for those of you who long to see your friends come to faith, and are desirous of seeing God use you more powerfully and consistently in his mission of bringing those apart from God back to Him through Jesus.

> Week Two – October 21 – Engaging Sunday
Steve Whitby will lead a conversation about what we actually do on Sunday mornings. He will walk through everything we are trying to do on a Sunday, and how we seek to impact a normal person who attends. This is essential for you in following up in conversations with your friends, and praying for God’s impact on them.

> Week Three – October 28 – Engaging Service
Marc Dickman will lead us in a discussion about the pathways to leadership within Warehouse. In the course of the evening we will explore our vision for people developing as leaders and find specifically how you can engage with passion and impact through the ministries of Warehouse.

> Week Four – November 4 – Engaging Leadership
Kurt Graves, long-time elder at Warehouse and General Manager of Orchid Ceramics, will offer his insight and encouragement about what it looks like, and what it takes, to be a leader outside the confines of the church. Kurt’s discussion will challenge us to find our place of impact in the culture around us.

This series of classes will contain critical, practical information that can make each of us far more equipped to be used by God for eternal influence.

Childcare will be provided. Please e-mail basics@warehouse242.org to let us know you need childcare, how many kids, and their ages.

> Release: The 73 – November 11

On Wednesday, November 11 @ 7PM, Warehouse will host, in the arena, a night of music and worship, a new experiment for us in connection and celebration. The Tuesdays, one of the Sunday morning music teams, will lead our community in engaging worship in loud, intimate, energizing, and, hopefully, entrancing ways that will aim to open a wide connection between us and God. This event will be a great place to release yourself from inhibition and your everyday drudgery, and to lean into an environment of passion and music.
Childcare will be provided.

> Musician Recruiting

We are a church that embraces and truly values music as a vehicle for communication, worship, lament, struggle, and beauty. We have three full-time bands that create the music for our Sunday experiences and we’re always looking for ways to plug new people into the equation. If you’ve ever wondered what it would look like to use your musical talents here, e-mail steve whitby : steve@warehouse242.org

> Warehouse in Zimbabwe

AIDS is a thief. We aim to put it to work.
We are in the process of trying to raise $36,000 to support our initial investment in ministry in Zimbabwe facilitating income generating activities. Our partners, Hope for Aids and country director Caiphas Ngavarume, have asked us to back the development of a restaurant to be started by four AIDS orphans, and a peanut butter production company with designs of expanding production throughout the city of Harare. IGAs such as these two ventures produce desperately needed jobs in a country where unemployment is 90%. They also provide food and the ability to purchase and take the ARV drugs necessary to treat HIV/AIDS.

If you would like to be part of this life-giving venture, please write a check for any amount above what you normally give to Warehouse, with “Africa” in the memo line.

On November 15, we will total all gifts to this fund, and put that amount toward these projects.
