The intersection of art and theology.
I hope you had a chance to walk through Steve Mast’s art panels from last Sunday’s gathering. They are a fantastic example of
the intersection of art and theology.
Looking for the graphic novel that you saw on Sunday? Check it out here.
In the Creativity section of our website it says that through our artists “we will provide avenues for examination, creation and conversation.” In last Sunday’s message we explored the American evangelical sin of convenience. Jesus’ willing sacrifice – his wholehearted commitment to live out what he preached in the Sermon on the Mount (“If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the left one also.”) – culminates in his crucifixion. Sacrifice, not out of duty, but out of a heart of mercy.
Steve’s panels explore this theme in a profound and beautiful way that calls us to examine our lives and begin the conversation with God and others about how to slay the sin of convenience.
