Midweek Two: Fuel Your Small Group

Small Group Challenge: Tucked away in the ancient worship book called the Psalms is this fascinating verse – “Commit your way to the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37:4

Spend some moments processing this verse with your group. Be willing to be honest about your own desires and hopes, both currently met and unmet.

Discuss these questions as a group:

> God’s promise to give us the desires of our heart has significant implications for exactly what God sees in our heart and how He longs to meet those needs. What does this passage say to you about your desires? How do you reconcile unmet desires with this promise?

> What do you think it looks like to “commit your way to the Lord?” What is implied in that statement, and what do you think your life looks like when/if this is true?

> How do we pray with integrity for our heart’s desires?

As a group, ask God to uncover your deepest desires – the richest, most profound longings of the heart – which, when met, will make you more fully alive.
